The Bilingual Wedding of Gretel and Arturo

Hello everyone,

I am so excited that I can finally show you all the details of this couple’s bilingual ceremony! Aside from being a beautiful wedding, full of details, for me this was was very special since Gretel was the first bride to book me when I started as a celebrant. She is a Belgian girl who had been engaged to a Sevillian guy and one and together they were preparing their wedding. Looking for inspiration, she had come across this blog and realized that our story was very similar. Two girls from Belgium who had fallen in love in Seville, had moved away and got married!

She wrote me an email inviting me to meet and of course I thought this was a lovely idea. From the first moment we met, we became friends. During one of our chats she mentioned it would be lovely if she could provide a bilingual ceremony for her guests travelling from Belgium and she asked if I knew someone. I told her I didn’t know a celebrant who could speak Spanish and Dutch but I explained to her that I was thinking of starting out as a bilingual wedding celebrant and if she wanted I would be happy to be her celebrant. A few days later she phoned me to tell me that she would be very  happy to have me as her celebrant at her wedding.

Thank you Gretel, for trusting me, you really encouraged me to start this job which is so beautiful and emotional…

They celebrated their wedding at the beautiful Castillo de la Monclova in Seville. Ever since she was little, Gretel loved organizing events, decorating and preparing details and for her own wedding it would be no different. Together with Arturo they designed and even manufactured all the furnitures, props and decoration details. For the ceremony they created a lemonade bar, a corner with some details for the guests, cones for rice and they even made their own altar table.

The rest of the wedding was also incredibly decorated with a beautiful rustic seating plan, detailed centerpieces, a chill out corner for the party hours, they even created a service bar for drinks. Everything was spectacularly beautiful and bilingual!. On their wedding day they had the help of the wedding planners Que Besen for the assembly and coordination of the entire event and Silvia Sanchez was in charge of immortalizing all the magical moments and details.

Everything was such a success that after their wedding they set up their own decoration business: DecoSur Eventos.
